Orange and T-Mobile merger final agreement signed
The T-Mobile and Orange merger is most definitely going ahead, after the final agreement was signed between the two UK mobile networks.
First announced in September, the merger will create the country’s largest mobile network, with a market share of 37 per cent and over 30 million customers. While little details have been announced about how this will affect customers, the signed agreement means that the expected 18-month long process is at least still sticking.
With Orange selling the iPhone from today, it could potentially mean that T-Mobile customers could upgrade to the latest iPhone in 2011 when the merger becomes final. It’s still not yet known whether T-Mobile and Orange will keep their existing branding, or join forces as one big company, perhaps called T-Orange.
