Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 price battle
As Modern Warfare 2 fans invaded Leicester Square last night, supermarkets and games stores prepared for battle. The title was originally given a RRP of £54.99, but competition between high street retailers has driven the price as low as £26 at Sainsbury’s.
In case you can’t get to a Sainsbury’s near you, or they have sold out, here’s a quick rundown of the offers available:
Sainsbury’s – £26
Tesco – £25 with another top 20 title, or £39.70 on its own
Asda - £32 in store, or £41.43 online
Game – £44.99 on Xbox 360 and PS3, £32.71 on PC (Free postage and packaging for those that order today)
Play.com – £44.99
Amazon – £32.99
At Amazon, sales of Modern Warfare 2 are already 50% higher than last year’s best seller, Grand Theft Auto IV, but it has already been marred with controversy with MP Keith Vaz attacking the game before its release. If last night’s Twitter buzz is anything to go by, Modern Warfare 2 is definately worth picking up, especially while these bargains are about.
